Li Peng Ends Asian Trip

Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) left Seoul for Beijing Sunday, ending his 10-day Asian trip.

South Korea was the last leg of Li's three-nation tour which had taken him to Cambodia and Brunei.

During his stay in South Korea, Li met leaders of the parliament, the government, political parties and business circles of the country and discussed ways to further develop ties between China and South Korea in all fields.

The Chinese leader, who was given grand and warm reception in South Korea, said his trip has deepened friendship, increased mutual understanding and strengthened cooperation between the two countries.
