Ancient Tomb Dates Back to Western Han Dynasty Found

A large tomb dating back the Western Han Dynasty £¨206BC-24AD£© has been found in an expressway construction site, in the western suburbs of Jinyuan County, north China's Shanxi Province.

Unearthed articles are 40 bronze vessels such as swords, pots with eight edges and six bronze chariot models.

Judging from five grave pits which maybe are subordinate burials, the occupant of the tomb is supposed to be a high-ranking nobleman.

The tomb is the fourth one dating back to the Qin Dynasty £¨221-207 B.C.£© and the Han Dynasty£¨206 B.C.-220£© ever found in the southern suburbs of Taiyuan. The finding will shed light to the study of the Western Han's history.
