China Satisfied with Sino-German Relations: Vice Premier

China is satisfied with the current Sino-German relations featured by the sustained expansion and deepening of cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other fields.

Chinese vice-premier Qian Qichen made the remarks at a meeting with German vice-chancellor Joschka Fischer in Beijing Friday.

China highly values the development of the Sino-German relations and is willing to join efforts with Germany to push ahead the bilateral relations to new high, Qian said.

China also appreciates German's adherence to the one-China principle, Qian added.

Fischer, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs, shared Qian's views on the bilateral relations. German believes China is playing an increasingly important role in Asia and the world, he said. The German side wishes to further strengthen its cooperation with China in all sectors while helping advance the development of the EU-China relations.

The vice-chancellor defined German as a worth-trusting friend of China, saying that his government sticks to the one-China principle and not to sell arms to Taiwan.
