Fifth Anniversary of CFPDF Marked
The China Friendship, Peace and Development Foundation (CFPDF) celebrated its 5th anniversary in Beijing Friday.
The foundation, launched by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) in May 1996, receives funds mainly from foreign donors.
CPAFFC Chairman Chen Haosu said that with friendship, peace and development in its name, the CFPDF is dedicated to pushing forward peace and development, the main trends of today's world, through exchanges with non-governmental organizations in foreign countries.
According to the foundation's a work report, the total assets of CFPDF increased from 2.74 million yuan to 60 million yuan in the past five years.
Meanwhile, CFPDF has sponsored lots of activities covering foreign relations, culture, education, finance, insurance, medical care, environmental protection, the development of China's western region,and anti-poverty efforts.
