Gao Shuying Wins Women's Pole Vault Title at EAGGao Shuying of China cleared the height of 4.20 meters to claim the title of the women's pole vault at the 3rd East Asian Games Friday in Osaka.Japanese Takayo Kondo and Zhang Na of China both cleared the 4.05 meters barrier but Kondo took the silver medal for fewer attempts. Gao Shuying, who holds the Asian record of 4.40 meters, tried to clear the 4.35 height but failed in all her three attempts. Gao's winning result is even modest compared with the world record of 4.70 held by American Stacy Dragila. |
