Asia-Pacific Silk Screen Printing Exhibition in BeijingThe first Asia-Pacific silk screen printing exhibition started Thursday.It is the largest professional exhibition of its kind in Asia- Pacific region, an exhibition organizer said. Exhibitors from some 17 countries and regions, including Japan, the Republic of Korea and Australia, have brought new screen printing materials and advanced equipment to the fair. Silk screen printing technologies are now widely used in making lottery tickets, labels, banners, T-shirts, advertising posters and in many other fields. Posters printed by using this method may produce vivid images and the colors will sustain longer time than those printed with ordinary techniques, according to experts. More than 90 woodcut works printed with the silk screen method were put on show at another art exhibition, which also opened Thursday in Beijing. It is said the exhibited artworks, which were collected from all over the country, represent China's highest level of the art. The way of printing woodcuts using the silk screen method originally derived from China's traditional cloth printing techniques, and the art only has a history of 20 years in the country. Experts believe that the screen printed woodcuts will be in high market demand for their artistic characteristics. |
