Australian Team Will not Have Much Effect on Chinese Team: Official

Australia's participation in the 3rd East Asian Games has increasingly shown its impact on the games' pattern and medal tally.

As it is the first time the country joins the game, Yang Shu'an, deputy chief of Chinese sports delegation, said that currently, Australia would not have great influence on the Chinese team.

This time, Australia has sent its 2004 Olympics preparation team to the game, it has certain strength. Although it would not take medals into account, it may have fairly great influence on the medals of other teams.

Some elimination events, selected through lot drawing such as ball games, wrestling, boxing and judo, may have effect on the medals of some small delegations, they have both advantageous and disadvantageous effect on the Chinese team, so, as a whole, they will not have much influence on China.
