China Wins Women's 3-Meter Springboard Title at EAG
China took the gold and silver medals in the women's 3-meter springboard final at the East Asian Games Friday in Osaka.
Wu Minxia beat her teammate Wu Shunqun to collect a winning total of 558.84 points. Wu Shunqun finished second with 544.02, followed by Rieko Kasai of
Japan
in the third place at 522.03.
The two Chinese divers put up a steady performance in the final, giving their Japanese opponent no chance of producing another upset in the diving competitions.
On Wednesday, Japan stunned world diving powerhouse China by taking the men's 3-meter springboard title.
The diving tournament of the 3rd East Asian Games will conclude after the men's platform final later on Friday.
