Guangdong Urban Residents Have Three Consumption "Hot Spots"

Urban residents in south China's Guangdong Province prefer to spend their incomes on tourism, health care and securities.

In April, their spending on tourism service jumped 74.1 percent, according to the Provincial Bureau of Statistics.

Their spending on medical care service decreased while their spending on health care products increased considerably. In April, per-capita spending on medicines dropped 8.2 percent. But spending on medical apparatus almost doubled, and spending on health care products surged 96.4 percent.

In April, per-capita spending on credits reached 261.57 yuan, up 21.3 percent over the same period last year. Of the amount, spending on negotiable securities soared three times. Treasury bonds with high yields and low risk are appealing to urban investors.
