S.Korean President Meets Chinese Top Legislator


Li Peng Meets Kim Dae-jung
South Korean President Kim Dae-jung and Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) met Friday and discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the Korean Peninsula issue and other issues of common concern.

Li arrived here Wednesday for a five-day official goodwill visit at the invitation of Lee Man-sup, speaker of the South Korean National Assembly (parliament).

During his visit, Li has met Lee Man-sup and business leaders and is expected to meet South Korean Prime Minister Lee Han-dong and other political and business leaders.

South Korea is the last leg of Li's three-nation Asian trip, which has already taken him to Cambodia and Brunei.
