China, South Korea Each Win Two Weightlifting Golds at Asiad

China and South Korea evenly split the four weightlifting gold medals on Thursday, the last day of the weightlifting competitions at the East Asian Games.

China took the women's over 75kg and the men's 105kg categories while South Korea triumphed in the women's 75kg and the men's over 105kg category.

Zhang Nan totalled 275kg for the title of the women's over 75kg category, beating South Korean Mun Kyung-ae and Hsieh Su-hua of Chinese Taipei to the second and third places.

Cui Wenhua of China also had an easy victory in the men's 105kg category event as he lifted a total of 385kg for the title.

Choi Jong-kun of South Korea was the runner-up while Eiji Inagaki of Japan took the bronze with a total of 330kg.

South Korean Kim Tae-hyun needed two attempts either in snatch and clean and jerk to secure a gold in the men's over 105kg category, with a total of 415kg. His compatriot Lee Woo-sung took the silver medal with 407.5kg and Han Wenliang of China won the bronze with an identical total of 407.5kg due to heavier body weight.

Kim Soon-hee beat her only rival Xu Jiao of China in the women' s 75kg category. She collected a winning total of 247.5kg, to Xu Jiao's 235kg.

China won a total of 11 gold medals from the 15 men's and women 's weightlifting events while South Korea won four at the East Asian Games.
