Chinese, Danish Foreign Ministers Confer in BeijingWhen both multi-polarization and globalization are accelerating, it is in the fundamental and long-term interests of both China and Denmark for the two countries 0to expand their cooperation in various fields.Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan made this remark Thursday in talks with his Danish counterpart Mogens Lykketoft. Tang spoke positively of Sino-Danish relations, saying that the development of bilateral relations is experiencing a good momentum with more exchanges of visits at various levels. Meanwhile, bilateral trade and economic cooperation have expanded, and cooperation in such fields as science, technology, culture, education, environmental protection, justice and civil affairs has yielded remarkable good results, added Tang. The Chinese government attaches importance to Danmark's role in the European Union and Europe at large, Tang pointed out. Lykketoft said his country is delighted to see that Denmark- China relations are developing well and it will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields. He reiterated that Denmark will continue to pursue a "one China " policy and support China's early entry into the World Trade Organization. Both sides also exchanged opinions on international issues of common concern. During his stay here, Lykketoft also met with Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng, and Vice- Minister of State Development Planning Commission Wang Chunzheng.
