40 Theatrical Items Presented to Mark 80th Anniversary of CPC
At the news briefing held in Beijing May 23 jointly by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture, the State Bureau of Radio, Film and Television, the Press and Publication Administration of China, Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circle and the Chinese Writers' Association, 40 major theatrical items were presented solemnly to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
These key theatrical items demonstrate the rich achievements gained in the prosperous literary and artistic creation. Their salient characteristics are a concentrated reflection of the glorious course traversed by the CPC over the past 80 years since its founding in leading the people in painstaking exploration, courageous advance and the carrying out of revolution and construction, and an expression of the valiant struggle waged by the Chinese Communists represented by the leading collective of the Party's three generations in their advance wave upon wave for the realization of the prosperity of the motherland and the happiness of the people and enthusiastically singing the praises of New China for the rapid material progress it has achieved since its founding in 1949, particularly in the past 20-odd years of the reform and opening up and the tremendous change made in greatly strengthening cultural and ethical progress.
The 40 key theatrical items are all works newly created in the past two years, most of which are works applied by central and local publicity and cultural departments for participating in the "Five-one Project of Anti-Drug Education included in the "Eighth Cultural and Ethical Progress", they are of strong guidance, mass character and reality, displaying the achievements gained through hard working for prosperity in the field of cultural construction since the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China.
The 40 key literary and artistic programs include: 10 films, 10 TV plays, 10 stage dramas (items) and 10 literary works.
