Arts Festival to Stage Big-time Performances

Having staged a number of excellent shows, the six-week-long Meet in Beijing Arts Festival will continue to stage big-time performances in the remaining week.

The University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with Sun Ping, a renowned Chinese Peking Opera actress, to stage Peking Opera accompanied by the symphony orchestra.

Placido Domingo, one of the world's top three tenors, will hold a recital in the Great Hall of the People.

The symphony orchestra from Philadelphia, one of the best in the world, will perform on June 1, also in the Great Hall of the People.

Starting on April 20, the arts festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, has so far presented 39 performances to the Chinese audiences, including ballet, symphonies, musicals and pop music.
