Smoke Grenade Explodes in Newspaper Office In Sri Lanka

A smoke grenade exploded in the front garden of a Sinhalese language newspaper office at a suburb in the capital of Sri Lanka on Wednesday without any damage or casualties, it was learnt Wednesday.

According to Victor Ivan, editor of the Ravaya (Echo) newspaper, the grenade failed to target an upstairs window of the two-story office building and exploded in the front garden.

He said that the smoke bomb is a warning for them to be careful about what they write.

Police are investigating the incident, Ivan said.
