All-Dominating Chinese Divers Let Go One Gold
The all-dominating Chinese divers finally had one gold medal slip from their grip as
Japan
ese Ken Terauchi turned to be a surprise winner in the men's 3-meter springboard.
Terauchi surprised even himself in winning the gold with a total of 740.91 points, beating Xu Xiang and Xu Hao of China to second and third places.
Xu Xiang and Xu Hao each suffered major errors in executing their dives and collecting poor scores of 692.70 and 679.14 points respectively.
It is rare for the star-studded Chinese diving team to lose gold medals in such regional games.
