2001 Beijing Int'l TV Week Closed

The five-day 2001 Beijing International TV Week closed May 22. It is the biggest-ever event jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Radio and Television Bureau and Beijing TV Station with their international counterparts in the new century.

Nearly 600 domestic TV stations, TV program makers and TV equipment producers and about 4,000 people from 56 institutions of 21 countries and regions in the world joined in the 2001 TV week.

Around 23,000 domestic and overseas TV programs had been put on show, with an intention contract volume up to 461 million yuan and program time topping 36,000 hours.

A total of nearly 7,000 hours of domestic TV programs were sold out and shown with an intention contract volume rise over the past years to reach 140 million yuan.
