DPRK Raps US Plan to Militarize Space

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea slashed out on Wednesday at the United States for planning to militarize space, terming it as a dangerous act that could spark a new round of arms races.

A commentary published in the official newspaper of Rodong Sinmun pointed out that the United States would conduct a large-scale military reshuffle under a recently released space militarization plan.

At a time when peace and disarmament have become the theme of the world in the new century and all countries are striving to achieve peace and curb armament, the United States is busy taking the opposite action by trying to realize space militarization and deploying a national missile defense system, in defiance of opposition from the international community, the commentary noted.

The dangerous US military plan will inevitably arouse international alarm and protests, it warned, adding that if the US stubbornly pushes ahead with the implementation of the plan, it will move farther away from the international community.
