15 Killed in in Encounters in India-Controlled Kashmir

At least 15 people, including two Special Police Officers (SPO) and two security men, were killed while a militant was nabbed with four kilograms of explosives in militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since Monday night, an official spokesman said.

Two SPOs, a policeman and seven militants, were killed in an encounter lasting several hours in Warwan area of Doda district in Jammu, the spokesman said, adding that five policemen also received serious injuries and a helicopter was being rushed to evacuate the injured.

Meanwhile, 11 civilians were injured when a grenade, lobbed by militants towards an army vehicle, missed the target and exploded at Kunzar Chowk in Baramulla Tuesday, according to the Press Trust of India.
