Chinese Teenager Claims Women's 200m Freestyle Title at EAG

Chinese Teenager Yang Yu took the title of the women's 200m freestyle swimming at the 3rd East Asian Games Tuesday in Osaka.

Yang, the 16-year-old World Cup short-course champion, touched home first with a time of one minute and 59.93 seconds.

Japanese Maki Mita, who scored the fastest time in the morning' s heats, finished second at 2:00.87, followed by her compatriot Eri Yamanoi in third place at 2:04.30.

In the first final held this afternoon, Takashi Yamamoto of Japan won the men's 100 meters butterfly gold in a time of 53.12 seconds.

Ouyang Kunpeng of China took the silver at 53.68 and the bronze went to Japanese Yoshihiro Okumura at 55.21.
