World-class Master to Design Chinese Bridge
World-class bridge designer Lin Tung Yen, famous for his masterpiece - the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco in the United States, will design a city bridge for this capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The bridge, with a planned length of 1,080 meters and a total cost of 25 million US dollars, will become the first piece of work in China by this Chinese American designer.
The blueprint for the bridge is expected to be finished next year and the entire construction will be concluded by the year 2004.
Born in 1912 in China's Fujian Province, Lin is a life professor for the State University of California.
