Weightlifters Add Three Golds to China at Asiad
Weightlifters added three golds to stamp a temporary top position for China in the medal standings with 10 golds on the second day of the East Asian Games Monday in Osaka.
Wang Yao lifted 155.0kg in the snatch and 185.0kg in clean and jerk to win the men's 69kg category with a total of 340.0kg.
In the women's competitions, Li Zhuo won the 48kg with 180kg in total after she broke world junior record in snatch with 85.0kg, and Song Zhijuan took the 58kg with a total of 215.0kg.
South Korean Choi Myung-shik stopped Chinese from sweeping the golds of the day when she took the women's 53kg with a total lift of 187.5kg.
