Chinese Woman Take Gymnasts Team Title at East Asian Games
The Chinese top-notched women gymnasts on Monday easily snatched the team title at the Third East Asian Games after defeating Japan and South Korea with a large margin.

The Chinese collected an accumulated total of 149.25 points for the gold medal, followed by Japan with 140.8 points and South Korea, 130.875 points.

All the event-highest scores were awarded to the Chinese as Bai Chunyue had a day-high score of 9.825 points in the beam, Dong Fangxiao netted 9.650 in floor exercise, Ling Jie got 9.4 in uneven bars, Dong Fangxiao and Qi Linzi both recorded 9.225 in the vault horse.

Chinese coach Liu Guicheng expressed his satisfaction, saying that all athletes exhibited high spirits during the competition.

"We performed our normal levels today, " said Ling Jie. She was confident that the team would perform even better in the singles and all-around individual events.

Australia, which participated the East Asian Games for the first time but not in contention of medals, got 138.675 points.
