Former Pakistani Naval Chief to Be Extradited for Trial

Pakistan's former Naval Chief Admiral (R) Mansurul Haq is being extradited from the United States and may reach Pakistan on May 25 as a result of proceedings initiated by the government of Pakistan with the US authorities earlier this year.

A team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has gone to the United States to take Mansurul Haq into custody for his extradition to Pakistan, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported on Monday quoting NAB sources.

Mansurul Haq was arrested by the U.S. authorities last month and was facing trial for extradition in Federal Court of Austin of Texas.

It is learnt that Mansur Haq is to be brought here for trial in Pakistan following charges of accepting huge amounts as part of illegal gratification and kickbacks in defense deals during his term in the office.
