Chinataiwan.org Eng. Ed Put into Operation

A ceremony was lately held for Chinataiwan.org Eng. Ed along with overhauled Chinese Edition to be put into operation in Beijing.

As reported, Chinataiwan.org, opened in July of 1999, is the first large mainland-based non-governmental website carrying releases and information on Taiwan. Focusing on an accurate objective coverage on Taiwan issues and cross-Straits relationship, the web aims to boost China's reunification, communications and brotherly ties of compatriots living on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. From putting into operation of the new China English Edition along with an overhaul of the web there has been brought about a great increase of aggregate information in improved quality on Taiwan.

Taking full advantage of the technology of Internet with advanced databank structure, the overhauled web offers visitors services of online audio and video broadcasting, a large collection of pictures and rare historical data. Presently nine channels in 100 columns have been in overhauled Chinese Edition; and five channels, 40 columns, in English Edition.
