International TV Week Staged in Beijing
The 2001 Beijing International TV Week opened here Saturday.
The event, in its ninth year, is sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Government.
About 500 domestic TV stations, TV program makers and TV equipment producers are attending the week, including some from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. About 20 TV stations from other parts of the world will take part in TV shows and trade fairs held during the Week.
There is a special exhibition area of 13,000 sq m, with 260 display sections. The total number of people officially registered to participate in the event is expected to reach 3,000, sources said.
