Rescue Work in Full Swing to Look for Trapped Miners

Rescue workers are busying searching for the 29 miners trapped 200 meters down in a collapsed gypsum mine in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China, sources said Saturday.

The cave-in took place early Friday in the coastal city of Beihai, and round-the-clock rescue efforts have since been going on.

Although temperature rose up to 34 or even 40 degrees Centigrade underground, experts said the trapped miners stay in a relatively large space and may survive for at least two days if no additional troubles occur.
