Hainan Hosts International Coconut Festival
The Tenth Hainan International Coconut Festival opened Friday in this southern China island province.
A number of colorful activities featuring tourism, afforestation, trade fair, folk art of minority nationalities, an E-commerce forum and a gala of folk customs will be held during the event, with the theme of making Hainan better known to the world.
More than 800 Chinese and overseas business people attended an investment promotion fair, and contracts have been signed on six big projects, including a 160-million-U.S. dollar chemical projects involving the United States company PENCOR.
The annual festival was first launched in 1992.
