China Lose to Australia in EAG Warmup

In a warmup game prior to the East Asian Games, Australian women's team defeated China 67-54 at Osaka's Han Ai Highschool stadium on Friday.

Friday's game was the first meeting between the two pacific countries under new rules such as four quarters and 24-second offense time, which are for the first time introduced in the Games.

Australian girls produced big troubles on China's offence in a transmitting game when they led 16-8 in the first quarter, and they kept the pressure on the ball in the following game and led as much as 17 points.

The faster Chinese found way on fast attacks in the third and fourth quarters to close the gap to seven points, but 26 turnovers cost them the game.

This game was not listed on the official schedule issued by the organising committee. Team officials of the two sides said they just wanted their inexperienced young players to have as many international games as possible.
