King of Gunfire John Woo Picks up Another Mirror

Hollywood Chinese director John Woo told lately that he would direct a film showing the early history of Chinese immigrants' tragic experience in America's railway construction.

After months' careful consideration, Woo said he had resolved to attend to his duty as an overseas Chinese and take up movies of more significance in terms of history, culture and humanity instead of those of "hit and kill".

Speaking of creation of his new movie, Woo thought of a combination of elements from suchlike movies of old, depending on his understanding of the art and Hollywood commercial package.

Since Woo's breaking-ground Hollywood debut his "The Killer", "Broken Arrow", "Face/Off" and "Mission Impossible II" are all of international renown.
