King Satisfied with Venue for WBA Title Fight

Don King Satisfied with Beijing Capital Gymnasium
American boxing promoter Dong King Thursday inspected the Capital Stadium of Beijing, the venue for the WBA heavyweight title fight between challenger Evander Holyfield and reigning champion John Ruiz.

After visiting the 20,000-seat stadium, King expressed his great satisfaction, saying that "the stadium is magnificent."

"This is a great facility. It has great sidelines." said the 69-year-old King.

"I think the world would be proud and most certainly the International Olympic Committee would be proud to host their games here." added King, who hopes the fight will boost Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympics.

"It's a beautiful stadium. It's great and I like it." said Ruiz, who will try to defend his title in the stadium on August 5.

King arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to thrash out details for the first heavyweight fight held in China.
