Hun Sen On Development of More Tourism Areas in CambodiaPrime Minister Hun Sen Thursday said that Cambodia will develop more tourism areas to promote economic development and reduce poverty.He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the annual summary meeting of the year 2000 of the Ministry of Tourism which began Wednesday. The premier pointed out that the tourism sector generates about 200 million US dollars per year in revenue for the government and creates about 100,000 jobs, contributing to the country's economic development. He disclosed that the government will expand the following tourism destinations: the Angkor Complex and its surrounding areas; the Mekong river landscape in Phnom Penh; the Sihanoukville city and Cambodia's northeast areas. The authorities, meanwhile, will also focus on improving quality of services in the tourism industry and training more qualified tourism personnel in order to attract more foreign visitors
