German Enterprises Show Increasing Interest in China Market

Joerg Wuttke, chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce in China (GCCC), said Thursday that German enterprises are showing an increasing interest in the booming Chinese market.

Wuttke said that, in contrast to large enterprises like Siemens Ltd, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the backbone of Germany's economy, are less informed about the Chinese market. The GCCC, therefore, arranged a group of German business executives stationed in China to tour Berlin, Frankfurt and other German commercial centers in March this year, persuading more enterprises, SMEs in particular, to invest in China.

Wuttke said the GCCC will make further efforts to better inform German decision-makers about China and encourage more German businessmen to invest in China.
