Sichuan-Tibet Highway Landslide Being Cleared

After 20 days of hard work, emergency workers in the Tibet Autonomous Region have removed 13, 400 cubic meters of mud and rock deposited by landslides that took place in the Haitonggou Section of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway in Qamdo Prefecture beginning April 25.

Officers and men of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, along with local engineers, have opened up a passage 4.5 wide and 1,400 meters long to ensure the minimum flow of transport.
