Mid Year to See Construction of Qinghai-Tibet Railway in Full Swing
Full construction of Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be kicked off at the turn of June and July, according to authorities of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
By now an engineering group of 1300 people has gathered along the Golmud-Lhasa line for the last surveying work. The project would be fully started after bidding work is finished by end of May. Then there will be 100,000 railway builders working along the construction sites.
The railway would bring new opportunities for a speedy development in the region and boost the exchanges of commodities, passenger flows and development of tourism industry with which Tibet will open fully its door to tourists from all over the world, Tibetan people said.
