Italy, France to Stage Joint Military Drills Next Week

Italy and France will stage joint military drills in the western Mediterranean next week.

The event, which will run from May 21 to June 1, is designed to prepare army, air force and navy units from NATO and EU countries for situations of medium-high tension and for peace-keeping missions.

Other participating countries include Denmark, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Great Britain and the U.S.
