Modern Farms in Guangzhou Attract Tourists

On the banks of the Liuxi River north to the city of Guangzhou, a demonstration farm named Yuewang was recently established. The farm known for its national high-tech demonstration agricultural projects, has a sightseeing industry that attracts a great number of tourists to experience the life of a modern farm, according to the latest Beijing Review.

The Yuewang is involved in the planting and processing of organic vegetables and has a research institute. Its vegetables have been sold on the local market and in Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asian countries, North America and Europe. Yuewang has been turned into the organic vegetable testing and production base for the Ministry of Science and Technology and the organic vegetable production base of Guangdong Province.

Yuewang has 88 greenhouses spread over nearly seven hectares. In addition, the Garden of Rarities and Curiosities, the Fruit Picking Garden , Wild Vegetable Garden and Seed Selection Garden are arranged there as well. Among them, the Garden of Rarities and Curiosities , with an investment of more than 500,000 yuan, covers more than 1 ,500 square meters. As the display greenhouse, it looks like a courtyard equipped with a modern sprinkler irrigation system. In this garden , visitors can enjoy hundreds of rare vegetables and fruits from around the world that have been moved into the garden.

Since being opened for sightseeing, Yuewang has received tens of thousands of domestic and foreign visitors, including senior agricultural officials.
