IWTO 70th International Conference Closes in Shanghai

The 70th international conference of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) closed Tuesday in Shanghai.

More than 400 people from 24 countries and one international organization, including the chairpersons of the boards of general managers from many foreign wool textile companies, wool business representatives, technical representatives of international testing organizations and scientific workers with research organizations attended the five-day conference.

The participants discussed the present situation, challenges, opportunities for the world's wool textile industry and its scientific and technological development trends, as well as a development blueprint for the 21st century.

Headquartered in London, the IWTO, founded in 1920, is an international organization that studies and coordinates the processing and production of the wool textile industry and related trading issues among its members.

The IWTO now has 25 members, who represent 24 countries and one international organization. China became a member of the IWTO in March 1998.
