Buddha Hidden in Ancient Tree

A clay Buddha looks out from a hole of the 1,000-year-old camphor tree in Jianyang County, east China's Fujian Province. The legend has it that the statue more than 60 centimeters tall was put in the tree by disciples of Zhu Xi, a philosopher in the Ming Dynasty��1368-1644��. The hole has become smaller along with growth of the tree. Thus only upper part of the Buddha can be seen.
