Vice-Premier Meets WMO Guests

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met Wednesday with a delegation from the World Meteorological Organization WMO), which is headed by Mohmoud Rebba, chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.

Wen said that the Chinese government attaches importance to meteorological work, and has increased its input in this field. China has built a national network for meteorology, worked out laws, and trained a great number of professionals in the field, he added.

Wen said that the Chinese government hopes to further its cooperation with the WMO.

Rebba said that members of the delegation were impressed with China's achievements in the meteorological field. He said the WMO has maintained sound cooperation with China, which he believed will develop continuously.
