Hong Kong Introduces Internet-on-TV Stock Trading ServiceHong Kong's leading brokerage firm Tai Fook Securities Group announced here Wednesday the partnership with iCare.com Limited, the only Internet-on-TV service provider here, to offer stock trading via Internet-on-TV.Under their agreement, iCare subscribers will be able to trade stocks at Tai Fook's website, simply by accessing the "Money Talk" channel on iCare's home page. Upon subscribing to iCare's Internet-on-TV service, Tai Fook's current account holders will be able to access their accounts via their television. Peter Wong, chief executive of Tai Fook Group, said at a press briefing that Internet-on-TV stock trading is expected to become of one of the most convenient and widespread channels for stock trading in Hong Kong. "Giving our customers convenient access to stock trading from the comfort of their homes is part of our commitment to serving investors throughout the region," he said, adding that the number of Tai Fook's online brokerage customers has reached 27,000. Sunny Lee, CEO of iCare, said, "With iCare's Internet-on-TV capacity, online stock trading will no longer be limited to PC users. Our alliance with Tai Fook will no doubt facilitate the penetration of electronic trading in Hong Kong and at the same time further enhance the Internet experience of our customers."
