Regional Declaration Passed for Development of Children
The Fifth Ministerial Consultation in East Asia and the Pacific on Shaping the Future for Children passed the Beijing Declaration, a regional joint development program for children on Wednesday.
The Declaration, adopted at the closing meeting of the Ministerial Consultation, will serve as a guideline for children development of the region in the next 10 years.
The three-day consultation, sponsored by the United National Children's Fund, has attracted 250 participants including government representatives and senior officials from 21 countries and regions as well as related UN agencies, donor governments and non-government organizations.
