More than 30 experts from State Inspection and Check-up Commission arrived in Shanghai May 14 for the inspection and reception of BaoSteel's third phase project.
The project, which began construction in August 1993 and completed in December 2000 at a budget cost of 62.34 billion yuan, is the extension of the first and second phase projects.
Experts said that the third phase is in line with the approved feasibility study and initial design report. The design of the project is reasonable with advanced technique and comprehensive facilities used. Environmental protection, fire control, labor protection, sanitation and other facilities all come to the requirements set by the related departments. File materials about the project have also been well kept. All the funds used in the project were controlled within the budget limits. Equipment used in the project also underwent an operation of over half a year for checking and production capacity has reached the designed standard.
