Chinese Communist Party Delegation Visits Nigeria

A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by Wu Guanzheng arrived here Tuesday for a four-day visit to the west African country.

Wu is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Shandong provincial committee of the CPC.

The delegation, at the invitation of Nigeria's ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), was received at the airport by Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Liang Yinzhu, and PDP's National Vice- Chairman Olabode George.

During his stay in Nigeria, Wu is expected to attend the opening ceremony of "China Shandong Export Commodities Exhibition" on Wednesday in Lagos and hold working talks with PDP officials in the capital of Abuja.

Nigeria is the second leg the CPC delegation's three-nation tour of Africa. They have concluded visit to Tunisia and will also visit Morocco after Nigeria.
