Ericsson Invests More in China

Ericsson will more than double its investment in China to US$5.1 billion as part of its five-year development plan for the country, according to the company.

"China is expected to become the most important investment market for Ericsson this year," Jan Malm, president of Ericsson (China) said.

Ericsson has so far invested some US$2.4 billion in China.

Kurt Hellstrom, the company's president and CEO, told a conference of advisers to the Beijing city mayor, said that China was the most active and attractive market in the world and would lure more and more foreign investment.
