Sophisticated Military Industry Tech Transferred to Civil Use

Yan Zhongqing, deputy General Manager of the Long March Launch Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd., said May 14 that his company has currently speeded up its integration with the market to transfer some military technology for civil use.

Yan indicates China's rocket carrier technology has reached the advanced world level. During the "10th Five-year Plan" period, China will make breakthroughs in the manned space technological field and will, therefore, need huge amounts of financial support. For a long time in the past, high and new technology has all along relied on the State's financial support. After the company is integrated with the capital market, it can quickly absorb funds. The acquisition of a high rate of returns from the transfer of military high technology to civil use not only can bring about a rapid elevation of the research level, but also will stabilize the contingent of professionals.

The Long March Launch Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully become a listed company through merging itself with the Wuhan Cable Co., Ltd. two years ago.

Yan said that relying on its high-tech achievements, the company had developed hundreds of high-tech civil products with broad market prospects during the Ninth Five-year Plan period.

The company is currently giving a striking show at the exhibition of the Beijing International Week, widening people's horizons with various kinds of civil products like electronic transportation maps, sensors, satellite positioning and navigation apparatus and high-definition satellite TV receiver.
