Chinese President Meets Sultan of Brunei"Relations between China and Brunei have been developing in political, economic, cultural and other sectors since the two countries established diplomatic relationship ten years ago," Jiang said. He said the two countries have carried out a number of projects, which have helped enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries. Brunei successfully hosted the 8th informal leadership meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) last year. The ninth informal leadership meeting of the APEC will be held in Shanghai this year. China will learn from Brunei in this aspect and will make this year's meeting a success, the Chinese President said. The Sultan said Brunei will offer every effort to support China in hosting APEC's ninth informal leadership meeting. He said China and Brunei enjoyed traditional friendship and bilateral relationship has developed smoothly over the past decade. "More cooperation has been conducted in agriculture and education sectors, " said Brunei Sultan, who is here to attend the APEC High Level Meeting on Human Capacity Building. High-ranking officials from both sides were present at the meeting, which was held in a in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
