A voting will be held on September 23 to elect the second Legislative Assembly of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), according to a local official on Monday.
Macao residents are very active in the election. More than 157, 800 people, out of 240,000 voting population, have received their voting certificates, Lidia da Luz, director of the Public Administration and Civil Services Bureau said.
He urged the voting population not yet registered to draw their voting cards before May 26, the deadline.
In line with the Basic Law, the second Legislative Assembly of Macao SAR shall be composed of 27 members, including 10 from direct election, 10 from indirect election and seven appointed by the chief executive of the SAR.
