PLA Chief of General Staff Meets Hungarian Defense Minister

Fu Quanyou, chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), said Monday that he hopes Sino-Hungarian military ties will continue to develop on a stable track.

Fu, who is also a member of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Hungarian Minister of Defense Szabo Janos.

The military cooperation between China and Hungary has been satisfactory in recent years, Fu said, adding that he believes the visit by Szabo will further the friendly China-Hungary military ties.

Fu also briefed the guest on China's domestic situation and military development.

Szabo said the Hungarian military is willing to strengthen the friendly exchanges with its Chinese counterpart.

On the Taiwan issue, Szabo said that Hungary will continue to adhere to the one-China principle and support China's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
