China in Good Stead to Hold 2008 Olympics Games
Yu Hong, speaking on behalf of the Technology Department of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee (BOBICO), lately announced at Beijing International High-tech Industries Week that after intensive efforts made China has been in a position to hold the Olympic Games at an all-time hi-tech level by 2008.

To ensure Beijing complete successful in its 2008 Olympics bid, an 800-square-meter "Olympics-related high-tech products" exhibition hall has been setup in showing Beijing's ability to play host to the 2008 Olympic Games. Hi-tech products on display include the city's informationalization construction, intellectual traffic, online registration, inhouse automatic control system, mobile communication, digital high definition TV system, Olympics-related papers making and nano-materials.

To demonstrate the relationship between hi-tech and Olympics, BOBICO has made a statistic table in showing ever raised technologies that had been used from 1912 to 2000 Olympiads

Yu said that Beijing has worked out plans for hosting the expected 2008 Olympiad at an all-time hi-tech level. If Beijing succeeds in its 2008 Olympic bid, backed by increased technological input, it will provide all-around hi-tech services for the 2008 Olympic Games.
